Joyce Sprinkle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Inc. on Mar. 31, 2026.
Joyce Elaine Sprinkle, 81, of Dover DE passed away on March 30, 2026.

She was born on October 21, 1944 in Greensboro MD, daughter of the late Edward and Clara Roberts Kibler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Glen Sprinkle in 1994 and a sister, Margaret Lofland in 2016.

During Mrs. Sprinkle's earlier years and while raising her family, she worked at the Country Store in Kenton, DE. After her children were grown, she worked as an office assistant at Thriftway Supermarket in Dover, and finally retired in 2000 from Playtex Products in Dover with 15 years of service.

Mrs. Sprinkle enjoyed taking care of her home and yard and was a true do-it-yourselfer when it came to fixing things around the house. She made sure to get every ounce of useful life out of all things she owned, and didn't believe in replacing anything that could be fixed. Mrs. Sprinkle persevered through some tough challenges in life, but always believed in being strong, working hard, and staying humble. Over the years, she also enjoyed quilting and embroidery and made several beautiful pieces that will be forever cherished by family and friends. She loved to go on car rides, have dinner with friends, gardening, and growing her favorite flowers, especially her beautiful irises and orchids. Most recently she enjoyed bird and butterfly watching with her daughter. She will be lovingly thought of with every visit from a beautiful hummingbird, cardinal, or monarch butterfly.

She is survived by a son Daniel W. Sprinkle (Grace) of Texas; daughter, Kimberly F. Tworig of Delaware; a brother, Edward Kibler of Maryland; a sister Wanda Nieves of Virginia; former spouse of her daughter, John Tworig; and 5 grandchildren Joshua, Colin, Katelyn, Jadyn, and Daniella. She is also survived by her close friends who are considered family, Jim and Linda Hargett. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be privately held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Delaware Hospice.
