On Sunday, January 4, 2026, Joyce Geraldine Stevens, 88, of Old Fort, went to be with the Lord at Mission Hospital McDowell.
She was born in McDowell County on August 23, 1937 to the late Thad Stevens and Dorothy Harvey Stevens.
Joyce loved the Lord, and this was evident in her daily life. A very generous lady, she put others first anytime she could. She was known as a caregiver and was always present in the lives of her family members. Joyce loved the mountains she called home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Brewer, and one brother, Darrell Stevens.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kim Brown (Rick); two grandchildren, Josh and Ashley; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Stevens; her beloved niece and nephews, April Ferko (Stephen), Mitchell Davis, and Jeffery Davis; great-nephew, Steven Ferko; and two aunts, Reba Lytle and Bobbie Elliott.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Moffitt Hill Cemetery.
2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752
