Joyce Nell O'Neal Turner, age 82, of Glenwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
She was born on January 26, 1942, the daughter of Alex Richard O'Neal and Lema Sue Barentine O'Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Turner; her sister, Shelah Wister; her brother, Ricky O'Neal; and her great-granddaughter, Briley Faith Turner.
Joyce married the love of her life, Harold, on February 25, 1961, she served over 50 years as a devoted pastor's wife that influenced countless lives in their walk with Christ. She was a faithful member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Joyce graduated at Kirby in class of 1960, where she was honored as Miss KHS one year after Harold was honored as Mr. KHS in 1959. She loved gardening, oil painting, crafting, cake decorating, teaching children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, singing in the church choir, being a part of the Ladies Auxiliary. But most of all, Joyce loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Turner and his wife, Beverly, of Glenwood; her three daughters, Nita Hughes and her husband, Pat, of Nederland, Texas, Angie Turner and D. Beckwith of Benton, and Cindy Spadoni of Glenwood; her eleven grandchildren, Virginia (Jake), Josh (Crystal), Patrick, Katelyn, Kristen (Ben), Stephen, Alyssa (Ben), Joey, Michael, Zachary, and Zoe; her thirteen great-grandchildren; her three sisters, Patsy Grant of Hot Springs, Sue Seals of Glenwood, and Peggy Smith of Benton; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM, in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with her family presenting the services in music and word.
Visitation will be Monday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Interment will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery.A guest registry can be found at www.smithfamilycares.com
