Joyce Vargo

Joyce M. Markulin Vargo, age 85 of South River, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rahway, she lived in Carteret before moving to South River. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Joyce worked for many years as a real estate agent with Sherlock Holmes before working as a billing agent with St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick for several years.

She is predeceased by her parents John and Florence Markulin and her husband Ernest Vargo.

Surviving are her beloved daughters Tracy Vargo-Bingert and her husband Carles J. Bingert III, Shelli Lange and her husband Eric Lange, Deborah Dwyer and her husband Dominick Cardoso, and her cherished grandchildren Alex J. and Madison Lange.

Calling hours at the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main St., Sayreville will be Friday from 8:30am to 9:30am. A 10:00am funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia.
