Graveside services for Joyce Anne Wilson, affectionally known to most as “Mimi.” Will be held at 11:00 Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, with Rev. Bubba Ezell officiating.
Joyce died on October 18, 2024. She was born on July 21, 1931, in West Monroe, where she was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in West Monroe.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence E. & Mary B. Wilson and sister Patricia S. Wilson.
She is survived by her niece Kelly W. Johnson and husband Stan, of West Monroe, great nephew Patrick Ryan Johnson, also of West Monroe and numerous cousins.
She retired from Entergy, having worked in the Right of Way Dept. for 39 years. She was instrumental in forming the Dixie Youth Girls Softball Program in 1973. She was an assistant coach in the program for 12 seasons and was extremely proud of the program’s growth over the years.
Pallbearers will be Destin Green, Colten Green, Jay Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Tony Kohler and Ron Chapman.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, from 10:00 until 10:45 on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Allegiance Hospice Care of Northeast Louisiana. Nurse Brooke Hutchinson, CNA Brenetta Shaw, Nurse Nathan Hancock, Social Worker Chardelle Canterbury and Chaplain Craig West.
