Brian Wilson

Brian Wilson, age 58, of Burnsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2026 at CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of Elbert Wilson of Burnsville and Irene Gibbs, also of Burnsville. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Elige and Martha Wilson and maternal grandparents: Robbie and Pansy Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Will Wilson (Abigail) of Wisconsin, Brandon Wilson (Sheena) of Browns Creek and Megan Wilson of Double Island; four grandchildren; father, Elbert Wilson (Marilyn) of Burnsville; mother, Irene Gibbs, also of Burnsville; sisters: Rita Ramie (John) of Marion, Angie Gastons (Gerald) and Vickie Newberry, all of Travelers Rest, SC; brothers: Anthony Wilson (Michael) of Old Fort and James Wilson of Asheville; aunts: Lucille Wilson of Bald Mountain, Lillian Tomberlin and Francis Bradford, both of Burnsville; uncles: Alan Wilson of Jacks Creek, Thomas Wilson of Bald Mountain and Danny Wilson of Marion. Several other extended family members also survive.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17th at Yancey Funeral Services. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Adam Bradford officiating. Interment will follow the services in the Edwards Cemetery in the Bald Mountain Community on Hoot Owl Road.
