Joyce Elaine Wilson

Joyce Elaine Wilson, 77, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital, surrounded by those she loved.
She was born on November 8, 1947, in Steedman, Missouri, to the late Walter and Gladys (Cepiski) Mealy.
On September 11, 1965, Joyce was united in marriage to the love of her life, Steve Wilson. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, and he survives her.
Joyce's career as an in-home babysitter reflected her nurturing heart and gift for caring for others. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their activities, and watching her grandsons race at the dirt track. She was a member of Life Pointe Church, where her faith and friendships meant so much to her. Joyce loved making connections and keeping in touch with all those who had crossed her path.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Steve; son, Jim Wilson (Heather); daughter, Lesa Akers (Kenny); brothers, Ronnie Mealy (Carlie) and Rick Mealy (Kathy); and sister, Janis Stieferman (Walt); sisters-in-law, JoAnn Mealy, Joyce Mealy; grandchildren, Jenny Akers (Nick), Justin Akers (Kelli), Courtney Wilson (Blake), Jordan Martin (Lannie), Trevor Wilson; great grandchildren, Austyn Davidson, Bristol Davidson, Penelope Martin, Georgia Martin, Bane Akers, Waylon Schnell, Drake Schnell, Myah Walker, Eva Walker, Everly Walker, Lauren Carter and Liam Carter; close friend, Ann Mealy, as well as countless children she cared for and loved as her own throughout her many years in daycare.
Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Mealy, Bobby Mealy, Larry Mealy (Mary) and sister, Sherlene Horstman (Clyde).
Funeral services will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Travis Boyt officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Steedman Cemetery.
