Eugene McCormack Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Eugene Wilson McCormack Jr., 75, of Reform, passed away peacefully at his home on November 2, 2025.
He was born on August 31, 1950, in Reform, Missouri, to the late Eugene Wilson McCormack Sr. and the late Ruth Pauline (Stiegman) McCormack.
On May 4, 1974, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Marie (Bell) McCormack, who survives him.
Eugene was a proud graduate of South Callaway High School, Class of 1969, and went on to earn his degree from Linn State Technical College. After graduation Eugene enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for 6 years. After returning to Missouri, he began his devoted career with Ameren and eventually retired as a senior draftsman.
A devoted member of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 30 years, Eugene gave countless hours of cheerful service and leadership. He held numerous volunteer positions, including Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 50 of Fulton, Venture Crew Advisor, Unit Commissioner for the Grand Prairie District, Assistant District Commissioner, District Commissioner, and Eagle Scout Advisor for Troop 50. He attended multiple Philmont leadership training courses and was the recipient of several distinguished awards, including the Silver Beaver Award, Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor, and the Fred A. Zimmann Distinguished Service Award. For the past decade, Eugene could often be found cooking at Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation "Camp Hohn" for training sessions and special scouting events, something he took great pride in.
Beyond scouting, Eugene was a member of the American-German Rod and Gun Club in Oberammergau, Germany, as well as the Owl Creek Sportsman Club in Callaway County. He also gave generously of his time to his community, volunteering for many years with Kingdom Days and the Fulton Street Fair Committees.
Above all, Eugene cherished time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather who took great joy in watching his family grow.
Those that remain to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Carolyn; sons, Rusty McCormack (Amanda O'Brien), Terry McCormack; daughter, Jennifer Ayers (Chuck); brothers, Paul McCormack, John McCormack, Gary McCormack; sisters, Betty Dixon, Carol Brock; brther-in-law, David Bell (Tammy) grandchildren, Kendall Evans (Jessika), Kara Evans (R.J. Bishop), Lacie McCormack, Ava Thacher; great grandchild, Maverick Evans, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. Visitation will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Millersburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Scouting America Great River Council, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251.
