Joycelyn Tibbitts Moore, 92, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and dear friend, returned to her heavenly parents May 27, 2023.
Joycelyn was born May 24, 1931, in Rigby, Idaho, to Lorenzo Edwin and Clara Eliza Tibbitts. Growing up, the youngest of 10 children, she often referred to herself as spoiled. She loved her childhood and her family.
In the summer of 1940, the family moved to Salt Lake County, Utah. Jocelyn graduated from South High School in 1948. On December 8, 1950, she married Keith L. Moore for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised four children, Michael, Carolyn, Merrilee, and Scott.
Joycelyn worked as a secretary to the office manager at Mine and Smelter. She worked at First Security Bank in their savings and loan branch and later as a teller at the Main Street branch. She retired from U.S. Bank in 1993.
She served two service missions with Keith -- One year in the Auditing department at the Church office building and 3 years at the Dry Pack Cannery. She also served with him as a ward missionary.
She accomplished many great things in her life, but her greatest joys were Keith, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Joycelyn is survived by her husband Keith L. Moore, daughter-in-law Jackie Moore, daughter Carolyn (Frank) Keele, daughter Merrilee Melton, and son Scott (Rebecca) Moore, 18 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lorenzo and Clara Tibbitts, siblings L.E., Orrin, Katherine, Don, George (Bus), Carl, Brandt, Allen (Marler), Lue Gene, son Michael Thomas Moore, grandson Steven Blaine Tanner, and great-granddaughter Isabella Gracie Todd.
Joycelyn will surely be missed. Her beautiful smile, her laugh, and her warm hugs cannot be replaced, but we know she will be with us, ALWAYS!
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 , 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior from 10-10:45 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
