Juan Antonio Muraira, lovingly known as "Johnny," passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 59. He was born on November 14, 1965, to the late Otilio Muraira Jr. and Maria DeLaCruz Muraira. Johnny was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and devotion to his family and loved ones. He leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts always. He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Though Johnny is no longer with us, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever in our hearts. A man of remarkable skill and intelligence, Johnny was known for his incredible work ethic and his ability to fix or build anything. From a young age, he helped his uncles with roofing, carpentry, and plumbing, and was a reliable hand on the family ranch. His disability never defined him or limited his passion for his work. He was a man who lived life on his own terms and was an inspiration to all who knew him. Johnny was the second oldest of nine siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otilio and Maria Muraira, his brother, Otilio "Chikki" Muraira III, and nephew, Sonny M. Perez. He is survived by his sisters Thelma Wander and her husband Richard, Veronica Muraira, Doralinda Balencia and her husband Timothy, Teresa Gutierrez and her husband Domingo, and Abigail P. Muraira and her husband Robert Perez; and his brothers Ismael Muraira and Alejandro Muraira. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. A rosary will be held for Johnny on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace, 15825 Bexar St., LaCoste, Texas 78039. Arrangements are under the direction of Alamo Funeral Chapels, 624 N. Alamo St., San Antonio, TX 78215. 1 Thessalonians 4:14: "Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him".
