Juan Jose Silva Martinez, 18, of Del Valle, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Juan was born on May 10, 2007, in Austin, Texas, and lived with his family in Del Valle. He worked alongside his father in construction.
A kind and thoughtful young man, Juan was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He loved playing video games and had recently been enjoying Mortal Kombat with his father—one of many moments they shared together.
Juan was a big fan of Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, and The Office, often rewatching his favorite scenes or quoting lines that made everyone laugh. He also enjoyed reading and drawing—creative outlets that gave him comfort and allowed him to express his imagination.
Juan was the youngest of four siblings and the only son in the family. He was deeply loved by his three older sisters, who cherished him as their little brother and constant companion.
He was raised in the Catholic faith and often prayed to Saint Jude. His devotion, along with his compassionate spirit and gentle sense of humor, touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Maria G. Martinez Becerra and Jose I. Silva Roman, and his sisters, Melinda E. Silva Martinez, Marili E. Silva Martinez, and Alondra Silva-Martinez.
Family and friends will gather to recite the Holy Rosary at Santa Barbara Catholic Church in Austin on Friday, August 22nd at 9:00 AM. A Celebration of Catholic Mass will follow at 10:00 AM, with Father Ernesto presiding. Juan will be laid to rest in a Christian Burial at Alta Vista Cemetery.
Though his time with us was brief, Juan’s life was filled with love, laughter, and deep faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
