Juana Cervantes Galvan

Juana Cervantes, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, May 30, 2025. Born on November 10, 1940, in Mexico, Juana lived a life filled with love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was married to the love of her life, Nicolas Rodriguez, in 1960. They shared a beautiful life together until his passing on June 18, 2016. Her devotion to Nicolas served as a testament to her enduring spirit and deep capacity for love. Juana was a cornerstone of her community, known for her calming presence and wise counsel. Her ability to bring comfort and reassurance to those around her was a gift, leaving many feeling soothed and hopeful in her presence. She possessed an innate ability to make everyone feel like everything would be alright. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, particularly her grandchildren. Their presence lit up her face and brought immeasurable happiness to her heart. As a homemaker, Juana found immense satisfaction in nurturing her loved ones, expressing her love through her skillful cooking, her intricate knitting, and the comforting sound of her voice reading the Bible to her family.
She is survived by her many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; her daughters Teresa (Salvador) Montoya, Silvia (Jose Luis) Davila, Lorena (Jose Gerardo) Paredes, Ana (Jose) Manriguez; sons Martin (Marie) Rodriguez, Nicolas (Mayra) Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, Victor Rodriguez; grandchildren Salvador, Antonio, Josue Montoya; Luis, Jacalyn, Adrian Davila; Alondra (Daniel) Marquez; Alan, Fatima, Aaron Paredes; Alejandro, Daniel, Carlos, Johana Manriquez; Miguel, Emily, Stephanie Rodriguez; Diego, Hana, Joaquin, Rodrigo Rodriguez; Karla, Christian Rodriguez; Angelina, Allison Rodriguez; great grandchildren Giada, Antonio, Theo, Vinny Montoya; and Emiliano Davila; and her sister, Emma Cervantes.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church 2505 School St, Rockford IL 61101. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM, Rosary at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 at Olson Funeral and Cremation Services North Main Chapel 2811, North Main St, Rockford, IL 61103.Memorials to the family.
