Juanella Elizabeth Seege, born on August 2, 1924, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, in her hometown of Dayton. She was a cherished figure within her family and community, known for her unwavering dedication and commitment throughout her life.
Juanella devoted more than 35 years of her professional life to DESC (Defense Electronic Supply Center), where she made significant contributions to the organization and the people it served. Her career, marked by a passion for helping others, left an indelible impact on countless lives and established her as a respected member of the Dayton community.
She is survived by her loving children, Mary France, Tanya Cromer, and Gloria Hawkins. Juanella also took great joy in her role as a grandmother, leaving behind four grandchildren: Tanisha Seege, Terah Reese, Kaleb Cromer, and Shawn Hawkins, as well as three great-grandchildren, Peyton Bailey, Khali Barksdale, and Chayse Reese. Her legacy of love will continue through her family, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were fortunate to have known her.
Juanella was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Maddox and Mary Lou Gates, and two siblings, Georgia Mae Sebastian and William Maddox. Her memory will be cherished by all who were touched by her kindness, resilience, and devotion to her work and family.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Juanella.
Visitation will be held from 12 pm -1 pm on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road Dayton, Ohio 45424). Procession will follow for a Graveside Service at 1:30 pm officiated by Marcus Maddox at Dayton Memorial Park (8135 North Dixie Dr, Dayton, Ohio 45414).
