Juanita Joy Haynes, age 90, peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Haywood County Community Hospital in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Brown and Bro. Chris Garner officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday Afternoon, November 19, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel.
Juanita was born on October 22, 1933, in McNairy County, TN., to Aubrey and Jessie Droke. She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. She loved growing vegetables and working in the flower garden. She retired as an associate from Walmart.
She is survived by one daughter, Billie Lynn Haynes of Brownsville, TN; daughter-in-law, Lavern Haynes; a bonus daughter, Joanne Smith and her great Godson, Brandon Smith; She held a special place in her heart for her three grandchildren, Jason Haynes (Shannon), Jeffrey Haynes (Carol) and Andrew Haynes, and her five great-grandchildren, Jackson Haynes, Hudson Haynes, Reed Haynes, Mason Haynes, and Maggie Haynes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Neal Haynes; her parents, Aubrey Droke and Jessie Robison Droke; one son, Daniel Haynes; three brothers, William Droke, Samuel Droke and Preston Droke.
Pallbearers for the service are Taylor Butterworth, Dwight Mitchell, Brandon Smith, Mike Spotts, Ethan Spotts and Dylan Spotts. Honorary Pallbearers are Jessie Mullen, Jerry Carrington, Bobby Droke, Bradley Jones, Don Glenn, Brandon Blackwell, Bradley Blackwell, Mike Parker, and Tony Beshires.
The family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
