A longtime resident of New Iberia, Juanita Theresa Sanders Labit was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on June 22, 1949, to the late Charles Gordon and Agatha Theresa Glenn Sanders.

A passionate soul with a talent for crafting, Juanita found joy in cross-stitching, sewing, and the art of baking and cooking. Her hands wove love into every stitch and meal, creating beautiful objects, delicious treats, and cherished memories. Whether she was nurturing her garden or soaking up a good book, Juanita's joy in life's simple pleasures radiated.

Juanita had a special place in her heart for her beloved cat, "Lil Boy," who often kept her company during her quiet moments. She treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren. The laughter shared, the stories told, and the wisdom imparted during their gatherings will remain forever etched in their hearts.

Mrs. Labit is survived by seven children, Randall Paul Labit (Donna) of New Iberia, Angela Theresa Boudreaux (Jason) of Loreauville, Rebecca Musumeche (Patrick) of New Iberia, Christopher Ray Labit of New Iberia, Stacey Elizabeth Moorehead (Jestin) of New Orleans, Cody Paul Labit of New Iberia, and Kevin Bryan Labit (Crystal) of Abbeville; siblings, Janice Boudreaux (James) of St. Martinville, Catherine Landry (James) of New Iberia, Charles Sanders, II (Kay) of New Iberia, Sandra Bourque (Andy) of Broussard, and Bradley Sanders (Cindy) of Loreauville; grandchildren, Chrislyn Labit (who Juanita so graciously raised as her own), Hayden Labit (Kayleigh), Trent Boudreaux, Kelton Musumeche, Kylie Musumeche, Alayna Crochet, Calvin Labit, Robert Crochet, Isabella Moorehead, Zayden Moorehead, Avynn Labit, Addy Labit, Spencer Marceaux, Peyton Labit, and Payslee Labit; great-granddaughter, Emerly Crochet; special people in her life, Mary Guillot of Loreauville, and Lauren LeBlanc and her children of New Iberia; numerous nieces and nephews; and too many “adopted children” to mention.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Samuel Paul Labit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to help with ongoing expenses.

Juanita will be remembered for her bright spirit, her devotion to her family, and her beautiful soul. May she rest in peace.
