In Loving Memory of Juanita "Janie" Orta August 13, 1934 – May 29, 2025
Juanita "Janie" Orta, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of God, entered her heavenly home on May 29, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on August 13, 1934, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Alfredo and Ernestina Jalifi, Janie lived a life rooted in love, devotion, and unwavering faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Ramon Orta, with whom she shared a beautiful life of love, family, and faith. Together, they built a strong and nurturing home, raising their children with the values of compassion, humility, and devotion to God.
A lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Janie served her parish with deep commitment as a Guadalupana. Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life, and she was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and steadfast dedication to prayer and service. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting presence of her love.
Janie was also preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Ernestina Jalifi. She is survived by her loving children: Raymond (Rachel) Orta, Terry Orta-Teri, Daniel Orta, Oscar Orta, Gina Orta (Manuel Ortiz), Ruben (Monica) Orta, Edward (Priscilla) Orta, Ben (Lena) Orta, and Amanda (Adan) Jasso. She also leaves behind 49 cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her dear brother, Leonel Jalifi.
Her legacy of faith, strength, and unconditional love will live on through the many lives she touched.
Services: Public Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, with the Holy Rosary to be prayed by the Guadalupanas at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Seaside Funeral Home, with the procession departing at 12:30 p.m. for a 1:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church.
