Juanita A. Reed, born on November 10, 1933, in Dalhart, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. She leaves behind a loving legacy through her daughters, Hayley Reed and Karen Benton, and her son-in-law, Dennis Benton. Juanita is also survived by her brother, John Alford; her brother-in-law, Terry Reed; her sister-in-law, Johnnie Alford; and her nieces, Carla Purcella and Darla Bryant. As well as many others.
Juanita was a devoted mother who embraced her family with unwavering love and care. A high school graduate, she dedicated much of her professional life to Southwestern Bell Telephone, where she formed lasting relationships with her colleagues. Outside of her career, Juanita had a passion for reading and writing, often using the written word to express her thoughts and experiences.
Known for her love of music and dancing, Juanita could often be found enjoying the rhythm of her favorite songs. Her appreciation for the outdoors was evident in her regular activities, frequently seen outside tending to her garden and picking weeds. Her spirited presence and warm-hearted nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home at 4:00 PM. A funeral service will occur on February 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Sanders Memorial Chapel. Juanita will be laid to rest at the burial site located at 2011 E 31st Street, Lubbock, TX 79404.
Juanita was preceded in death by: William Sion, Gertrude (Garrison) Alford, Eldon Ray Reed, Marie Thompson, Thelma Tapp, Carl Lee Alford
