Juanita K. Stacy, of Indianapolis, passed away May 19, 2024, at the age of 83. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on November 25, 1940, to Warner and Hannah Elam.

Juanita married Arlie Stacy Sr. on March 31, 1956, and together they had four children.

Juanita worked at many jobs early in life, however she was the proudest about raising her four children. Her proudest career job was learning to become a precision aircraft / aerospace machinist. Starting as the factory janitor and shop clean-up person, Juanita started to learn about machining metal pieces into parts used for aircraft and aeronautical systems and parts for the Space Station, the Original Space Shuttle, and many other huge aerospace projects during her career.

Juanita was the Rosie the Rivetter of her family and childhood. She could fix almost anything mechanical even if she had no idea how to fix it. She would just start taking "the dang thing apart" and then read manuals, pick up the parts, and commence putting it all back together, which at times included our washer and dryer. Juanita had a recipe to cook anything you would ever want to eat. She never wrote many of the recipes down as she would always tell you, "Just use a little of this and that, add some of this and taste". Almost every meal she cooked was a recipe from her memory.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Deaton, and brother, Raymond Elam.

Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Arlie Stacy Sr.; her children, who were her pride and joy, Arlie Stacy Jr. of Dayton, NV, Donna Stacy Youngs of Greenfield, IN, Todd W. Stacy of Fishers, IN, and John P. Stacy of Fishers, IN; brothers, Donald Elam, Orville Elam, and Larry Elam; grandchildren, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Annie, Kristopher, Jeremy, Zachary, Jacob, Darrian; great-grandchildren, Cody, Madison, Carson, Caden; and great-great grandchildren, Asher and Piper.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm with a funeral service at 12:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250.
