Juanita L. Tawney, 90, of Augusta, Georgia passed away on January 16, 2025 in Martinez, Georgia.
Juanita was born in Suzanne, West Virginia on November 28, 1934. She grew up in Martinsville, Virginia. She married Marvin Tawney on October 28, 1955. She was a homemaker, occasionally volunteered for the Red Cross as a candy striper and she also worked as a lunch lady at Willis Foreman Elementary School. Juanita loved baking cakes, sewing, cross stitching, crocheting and making baskets.
Juanita is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Sharon Tucker.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Tawney; son, Mickey Tawney; daughter, Mitzi Tawney Graybeal; grandchildren, Christian Thomas, Nicole Thomas Porath, Taylor Thomas and Alison Tawney; great-grandchildren, McKenzi Thomas, Dakota Thomas, Sebastian Goodrich and Logan Tawney.
Memorial services will be held at Fairhaven funeral home on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 6-8pm.
