Judith M. Baizer
February 27, 1950 - June 2, 2025
After a long and difficult battle with cancer, Judy passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side. Judy was born in Manhattan to Asher and Sylvia Baizer, and soon moved to Ithaca, New York where her father was a professor of English at Ithica College. After high school, Judy attended Cornell University and then George Washington University Law School and upon graduation became a member of the DC Bar. She spent her career as a respected legal researcher for the Department of Justice. Judy met her husband Eric in 1972 and together they resided in Alexandria and Parkfairfax, where she served on a resident advisory committee. Judy was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, especially live concerts, and loved solving New York Times crossword puzzles. She delighted in traveling and hiking with her husband throughout the United States.
In addition to Eric, Judy is survived by her brother, Larry Baizer (Elaine Lewis), her nieces Sarah and Tessa, as well as many other family members and friends. Judy was a tremendously caring, thoughtful, and engaging partner, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to those fortunate enough to know her. She will be missed dearly. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at Everly Wheatley Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held in Wilmington, NC on August 9, 2025, in the afternoon. More information will be provided when available.
