Judith A. Baker, 82 of West Hill Rd., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 7, 1943, in Afton, a daughter of the late Rexford and Ruth (Thompson) Crounse and graduated from West Scranton High School in Scranton, PA. On December 21, 1985, at the Chapel House at Colgate University in Hamilton, she married Frederick A. Baker. Judith worked for Simmonds Precision as an accountant until her retirement.

Judith was of the Methodist faith. She was a 40-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Post #876 and then Post #1478 and the Sherburne Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She was a former Pop Warner cheerleader coach and served as a tabulator for the Sherburne Pageant of Bands for many years. She enjoyed camping, going to the cottage on Heart Lake with her family, and spending the winter months in Florida with her husband, Fred. She was a devoted grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband Fred and his daughters, Debra Losee and Sandra Baker, both of Clayton, NC, and his daughter-in-law, Tina Baker of Sherburne; her grandchildren, Jake Baker, Matt Baker, Heather (Jamie) Losee, Rachael (Will) Jones, Chelsea Law; great grandchildren, Mason Jones and Lily Jones; a brother and a sister-in-law, John and Joyce Crounse of Clarks Summit, PA; her two brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Linda Baker of Vestal, Gary Baker of Lakeland, FL. and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Ina May and Dean Record and Fred's son, Ronald Baker.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 2 pm from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY 13460.

Friends are invited and may call from Noon to 2 pm prior to the service.

Interment will be held in the spring in Willcox Cemetery, (Town of Smyrna) Earlville.

Contributions in Judith's memory may be made to the American Legion #1478 Aux., 1136 County Rd. 5, McDonough, NY 13801 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33-39 Court St., Norwich, NY 13815
