Judith "Judy" Irene Beaner, 81, was surrounded by her family when she went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The funeral service will be on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 1:00pm at Aberdeen Alliance Church (1106 S. Roosevelt Street) in Aberdeen, SD. The burial will be held at a later date at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Lawrence, SD.
Judy was born on February 8, 1944, in Miller, SD to Gradus and Florine (Bradburn) Aalbers. She grew up on a farm south of St. Lawrence and always enjoyed riding horses, even into adulthood. She was the middle child of six, with one older brother, two older sisters, and two younger brothers. She attended country school in Pearl Township during her younger years. She was in the last graduating class of St. Lawrence High School.
Judy married Charles "Chuck" Joseph Beaner on December 1, 1962, at St. Anne's Catholic church in Miller, SD. They made their home in Miller for several years before relocating to various places in South Dakota, due to Chuck's occupation. In 1972, they bought the family farm south of St. Lawrence and enjoyed raising their five children on the farm. They were active members of the Church of the Nazarene in Miller.
Judy was a farm wife and Chuck's partner in running the farm. She also helped as a cook at a local café. In 1989, Chuck and Judy sold a portion of the farm and moved to Miller, where Judy ran a daycare in their home. They moved to Aberdeen in 1997 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Judy enjoyed being around her grandchildren and helping care for them. She and Chuck are members of the Aberdeen Alliance Church.
In 2023, Chuck and Judy moved to Groton, SD, to the Rosewood Retirement Community. In May of 2025, they moved in with LeeAnn, their daughter, due to health reasons.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Gradus and Florine, two brothers, Kenneth "Sonny" and James "Jim", one sister, Norma, and one son, Daniel.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Chuck, her children: LeeAnn (Melvin) Harrell, Paul (Amy) Beaner, Suhnya (Lyndell) Martin, Matthew (Heather) Beaner, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
