Judith Norene Capello, 78, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2023, at Chambersburg Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on August 4, 1944, in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania to Harry John Newell and Florence Louise (Fortney) Keys and stepfather, Arthur Keys. She was employed by Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg as a computer support analyst, retiring April 3, 2002. She enjoyed volunteering at The Open Door Church office, where she was a member. She also enjoyed exercising, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and shopping, especially QVC.
Judith is survived by her sister Pat Golden and her brother, Ron (wife, Judy) Newell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, her special friends, Wanda and Steve Galbraith and Butch and Ella Mae Pittman, as well as her sisters-in-law Delia Newell, Chris Newell and Sue Newell. In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her sweet babies, Christine Louise and Timothy Arthur Brewster, and her siblings; Margaret "Peggy" Kelso, Bobby Newell, Donald "Don" L. Newell, David "Dave" L. Newell, William "Bill" Newell.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at The Open Door Church, with Pastors Mike Sanders and Carl McKee officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Open Door Church or the Cumberland Valley Christian School.
