Mrs. Judith A. (Doucette) Conrad, of Marlborough, died at home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 following a period of declining health. She was 82.
Judy was born in Newton on February 14, 1942, a daughter of the late Rene and Frances (Torri) Doucette. She was raised in Newton and in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School.
It was at Watertown High where she met her husband, George Daniel ‘Dan’ Conrad, and the couple enjoyed sixty-one years of marriage before Dan’s death on September 13, 2023. They lived in Watertown and in Waltham before moving to their home on Flagstaff Lake in Eustis, Maine. They also wintered for a number of years in North Fort Meyers, Florida. After Dan’s death, Judy moved to Marlborough to be close to her family.
Judy had many hobbies and interests and was also a talented gardener and floral designer. She took great pride and satisfaction in her work at ‘O’Toole the Florist’ in Waltham and before that worked at Edgar’s Greenhouse in Belmont.
She was a talented knitter and spent countless hours every year knitting hats and mittens of every size and color to donate to the needy. And although she was a resident for just a short time in Marlborough she joined a local book club and the Marlborough and Hudson Senior Centers where her affable and friendly nature earned her many friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, Dan, and her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Rene ‘Ray’ Doucette.
She leaves her childen, D. Scott Conrad and his wife, Donna, of Waltham and Debra C. LaFrankie and her husband, Donald, Jr. of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Kristyna Carlton (Keith), Alyssa and Juliana Gigas and Jessica and Daniel Conrad, many nieces and nephews and her much loved pup, Tiffany.
