Judith R. Dashnaw, 73, of Silver Lake Rd, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, with her loved ones by her side at CVPH Medical Center. Judy was born in Oswego, NY, the daughter of the late Joan and Joseph LeClair. She eventually moved with her family to Lyon Mountain, NY, where she graduated from Lyon Mountain High School. In 1971, she married her beloved husband Tony Dashnaw, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years. Judy entered the workforce after high school, retiring from SUNY Plattsburgh with over 30 years of service. She served as the administrative assistant for the psychology department for the majority of those years and took immense pride in her work supporting students and faculty. She particularly enjoyed the opportunity to work with students, providing guidance and mentorship. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening and birdwatching. She was a voracious reader, stacking books in all corners of her home and sending donations to the local nursing home when the stacks grew too precarious. Most of all, Judy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whom she loved wholeheartedly. She made friends wherever she went, and her door was always open if you wanted to stop in for coffee and a chat. Judy is survived by her husband Tony; her son Tony (T.J.) Dashnaw and his partner Melissa Manchester; her sister Jean LeClair; and her brothers Joseph (Sherry) and John (Carol) LeClair. She is predeceased by her sister Joan Ann Houser. In accordance with her wishes, no calling hours or service will be held. The family invites Judy's loved ones to celebrate her life in any number of ways that honor her memory and her generous spirit. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Judy's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Foundation of CVPH, or the American Cancer Society. Memories and condolences may be shared online at Brown Funeral Home.
