Judith L. Dobson

Judith L. Dobson, age 82, of Hillsdale, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson. She was born on July 30, 1943, in Hillsdale, to Dono and Lenore (Comstock) Olmstead.
Judith graduated from Jonesville High School in 1961 and went on to work at Olivet College as the Assistant Financial Aide Director for 25 years. She was a piano teacher for 40 years and also played piano in the praise team for several years at the United Methodist Church in Brookfield Township. She was an active member o the Jonesville First Presbyterian Church. Judith was a crafter and was particularly good at sewing doll clothing and basket weaving. She bread and raised Sheltie dogs for show and was an avid gardener.
Judith is survived by three children Lisa Dobson, David (Michelle) Dobson, and Robert (Karla) Dobson; nine grandchildren, Alex, Ashton, Ericka, Brooke, Dustin, David, Gavin, Keegan, and Raigyn ; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janet (Andy) Penrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Ruth Mary (Richard) Pearson, and Norma (John) Dann Hausen.
A memorial service for Judith Dobson will take place at a later date at the Jonesville First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements haven been entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Memorial contributions are suggested to the church.
