Judith "Judy" V. Halstead, age 87, of Ayrault Road, passed away peacefully at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born on November 20, 1937, in Syracuse, NY and was the daughter of the late Ward and Mary (Sheffield) Vanderhoff. Judy lived in Fairport for the last five years of her life to be close to her loving daughters. Earlier, she resided in Charlton for several years where she raised her children and was active in the community. She worked as a teacher's aide at Guilderland Central School District for many years before retiring.
She was the mother of Barbara (Rudd) Potts Hubbell, Diane (Pat) Potts Allen and the late Christopher A. Halstead; grandmother of Megan Harp, Benjamin Allen, Maxwell Allen and Savannah Allen and is also survived by many great grandchildren.
All are welcome to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am and be officiated by Rev. Justin Hood, Pastor of Shenendehowa United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in Sweetman Cemetery, Charlton, NY.

I had the pleasure of being Judy´s friend for the past few years. She blossom at Solstice when she moved in, and made friends with everyone. I enjoy her eagerness to participate in activities, adventure on outings, and always be at exercise class.
I will miss you Judy, and your hugs.
I was the active director at Solstice for 13yrs until February 2025.

Judy will always be in my heart and remembered as my dear and faithful friend. We shared many laughs and tears together and her forever hope and joy was in her Lord.
