Judith 'Judy' Hennessey (Rooney), 72 of Westwood, MA passed away September 19, 2025. Judy grew up in Jamaica Plain/West Roxbury, graduating from St. Clare High School in Roslindale before studying at Boston College. Judy went on to become a health care administrator for Goddard Medical Associates and Dedham Medical/Atrius Health until her retirement. Judy is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years John (Jack) Rooney. She is also survived by her children Sean Rooney and his wife Mary of Norwood, and Lisabeth Rooney and Judy's wonderful grandchild Emma of West Roxbury (who she loved like a bunny). Judy loved spending summers on the beach at Plum Island with her family and friends and will be remembered for her kindness and counsel to all those who knew her. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, MA 02132. A Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre St., West Roxbury, MA 02132. For those wishing to attend, the burial will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 1:00pm at Oak Hill Cemetery, Parker Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Judy's name to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org/?campaign=honormemorialmenu https://donate.cancer.org/?campaign=honormemorialmenu.
