Judith "JJ" Ann Janquart, 80, of Stevens Point, WI, was called back to God on March 21, 2024 following a 2 year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Judie was born on May 21, 1943 in Menominee, MI, to Joseph and Camille Janquart.
After Judie graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School in 1961, she went on to serve active duty in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) from 1961 – 1964. Judie was most proud of the time she served her country. During her active duty years, she played her first organized sports and represented her post in basketball and softball. During her 20+ years of service in the Army Reserves, she played professional women's football for the Toledo Troopers. Judie retired in 1993 as a Major. Judie attended Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point (now UW-SP), because they offered a Women's Physical Education major, to become a gym teacher. While attending college, she played six sports (field hockey, basketball, volleyball, track, tennis and softball). In 1970, Judie began her career in education with the Stevens Point School District, where she held many positions, to include: Physical Education Teacher, Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, Driver's Education (Teacher and Program Head), Assistant Athletic Director, in addition to coaching Swimming, Tennis and Track & Field. She retired after nearly 30 years from the Stevens Point School District.
She spent her retirement winters at her home at Happy Trails in Surprise, AZ. Judie's many adventures included: attending over 25 years of NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four, visiting Disney parks over 30 times, attending 2 Super Bowls, celebrating a Wisconsin Badgers win in the Rose Bowl, attending 2 Olympic games (Los Angeles and Atlanta) and in her travels, she had visited every state in the union. Some of her many other hobbies included: spending time with her family and friends, visiting the casino with friends, participating in recreational sports, horseback riding, golfing and was an avid, dedicated fan of her beloved Green Bay Packers and proud of her Row 1 season-ticket! Judie volunteered at the Special Olympics for many years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish.

On the eve of another Super Bowl that the Packers are not playing in, actually has us thinking about JJ! My wife & I have season tickets next to Judy, & had many laughs with her & her friends Sue, & Liz. Many people knew her from game day, which also included the field workers & security. The one thing the we were surprised to hear about was her past dedication to us & our country! She never mentioned it over the many years of seeing her on gameday. All that mattered was a Packers win, & to have fun! Judy, thank you for your service not only to our country, but to our community! You are missed by many, especially on gameday @ Lambeau!
Go Pack Go! The Bears still suck!

I still remember Judy and how proud her brother Brian was of her. He always talked of Judy and Point. He even drank Point beer. When I saw her photo it reminded me of her mom. They were both tenacious gals. She will remain always in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless, Joe Fournier.

We knew Judy since high school, and what a remarkable individual she was. She wore many hats throughout her life, and in each one her positions her dedication to service and leadership was truly outstanding. She loved all sports, but her heart belonged to the Packers! A loyal and true fan for life. We will never forget her! Tom and Maryellyn Gosling

Coach J was one of my favorite coaches. Her dedication, encouragement, and care for her players was always felt. She was a beacon of light and cheer for Women's sports and her players. Her influence in this world will be missed, but I know she will shine from above, continuing to show her support in the star-light. Rest well Coach and thank you! Vicki Cobb, SPASH 1981
