Richard Janquart Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory - De Pere on Jun. 17, 2024.
Richard John Janquart, affectionately known to many as "Rick," of Denmark, WI, passed away at age 72 on June 14, 2024, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center of Green Bay, WI surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born May 13, 1952, in Green Bay, son of the late Norman and Laverne Janquart, and spent his youth growing up in Allouez.
Rick attended St. Matthew's Catholic school and went to Green Bay East High School. Rick was employed as a Millwright at Fort Howard (later Georgia Pacific) as a welder and retired after 42 years. Rick was fond of fishing and hanging with friends at a local community establishment, especially hanging with his good friend Cheech. Rick was a selfless, compassionate, loving, advice-giving father and friend. Rick was an avid fisherman and for the past 49 years would embark on an annual musky fishing trip with his brothers and honorary brothers. He was a golfer, loved playing cards, and being part of dart and pool leagues. He made many good friends along the way. Rick enjoyed spending his summer days meticulously caring for his 1.5-acre lawn and home that he bought for his beloved wife, Kellie. You could often find him enjoying a whiskey and catching up with his friends at Farmstead. He also enjoyed watching old TV series. He was proud of his children and grandchildren. He always bragged about all their endeavors and was proud to mention those successes.
Rick married the love of his life Kellie Van Rens on March 4, 1994, and spent 18 years together. They loved to spend time camping at Bagley Rapids and an assortment of other adventurous places. The time spent together was cherished by all that knew their love. They were quite a pair, and many loved to be with them.
He is survived by his children; Jeremy Janquart, Adam Janquart, Wendie (Nikolas) Igler, Matthew Van Rens, Corey (Samantha) Janquart; grandchildren, Kaleb Stache, Lauren (Richard) Andrade, Jaden Janquart, Jordan Stache, Kendal Janquart, Madison Van Rens, Mariah Janquart, Olivia Janquart, Kamden Janquart, Clayton Janquart, Jacie Igler, Jameson Igler; great grandchildren, Aubree Andrade, Eden Andrade; siblings, David (Candy) Janquart, Julie (Julie Van Lannen), Bob (Kathi) Janquart, Tom (Alice) Janquart, Joe (Michelle Crooks) Janquart; sisters-in-law, Darlene Janquart, Gale Janquart and Joyce Janquart; and brother-in-law and great friend Will Hogan.
Rick was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Kellie Janquart, his parents, Norman and Laverne Janquart, brothers: Tim, Alan, Paul, and Jerry Janquart; sister Mary Hogan, and nephew Dan Janquart.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N Tenth Street, De Pere WI 54115. Visitation will continue Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew Street in Green Bay, from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating.
Rick's family would like to thank his nurses and doctors at Aurora Hospital and cancer center in Green Bay for their exemplary care, and for their tender, loving care during his stay.

It is with a heavy heart that I heard of Rick's passing. My sincere condolences to Rick's entire family. Rick had the biggest heart in the world and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. We used to spend countless hours together at Cheech's talking and laughing, sharing good times as well as bad. I can still hear his infectious laugh. I talked to him a few weeks ago about how he was doing. He always had a positive attitude even on his worst days and was always more concerned about his friends and family than himself. He talked very highly of his family as well as his wife whom he loved very deeply. I know they will share an eternity of happiness together as Rick's faith ran very deep. A TRUE friend is a Gift from God and Rick you were definitely a Gift to me. Your friendship was immeasurable. Thank you my Friend.

Rest in peace Rick. I always admired the love you had for your wife. Now you both can share that together. Oh, and all the fun times at the Farmstead driving Chech crazy.
