Born to life April 30, 1948, in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of Jerome Cassidy and Mary (nee Carroll) Cassidy, Judy was born to eternal life November 25, 2024, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, at age 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Michael E. Maszk.
Judy was the loving mother of Kelly (Megan) Maszk and Shawn Maszk and the cherished grandmother of Riley Maszk and Lauren Maszk. She was the fond sister of Sharon (Frank) Damico, Marcia Cassidy, Mary "Terry" (Chet) Morris and Monica Cassidy. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
While Judy was born in Williamsport, PA, with her father being in the military, she, along with her mom and her sisters spent time in Germany, Georgia, a few other stops in between and finally settling in Wisconsin. Judy graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee.
Judy was creative, artsy, an outstanding cook, a seamstress, pet lover and avid gardener.
Her boys have fond memories of delicious holiday meals, homemade treats to take to school to share on birthdays and Christmas cookies and sweets that rarely lasted until the actual holiday.
She was known for her skills with a sewing machine. She made countless dresses, outfits and even elaborate Halloween costumes for both family and friends.
Judy found relaxation and was able to let her creative side shine with the various crafts she enjoyed. From painting to macramé to needle point to gardening. Her home showcased her talents and the time she spend in her garden was evident.
After the boys left the house, Judy and her husband Mike, spent a great deal of time at their cottage in Crivitz, WI. She spent time fishing with Mike and taking their pontoon boat out on the flowage. She also enjoyed walking the fire-roads and trails around the area.
Judy was also known as an avid lover of her pets. From dogs early in her marriage, to all of the cats that she loved and cared for throughout the years. They brought her great joy and companionship and she cared for them all deeply.
The one constant in her life were her four sisters. They were her best friends and shared a deep connection as only sisters who were Army brats could. Being in a different country, or in a new state, they only had each other to rely on and the experiences they shared were never forgotten and those sisterly bonds were never broken.
Judy always wanted the best for everyone in her life. She was inquisitive and loved to hear about the most recent restaurant you had been to, what book you were reading or if you had a good recipe to share.
She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Gathering will be held for Judy on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:00pm, all at Jelacic Funeral Home, Inc., 5639 West Hampton Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53218.
