Judith McLaws Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tate Mortuary on Jun. 24, 2025.
Judith Gregrich McLaws, 85, died June 19, 2025, in Grantsville, Utah. She was born April 2, 1940, in Tooele, Utah to Peter & Iva Gregrich.
As a child Judy loved to ride the family horses and play dress-up with her sister Pat. She was part of Tooele High School's class of 1958 and enjoyed being on the cheerleading team.
While attending LDS Business College in Salt Lake City she met the love of her life Jesse Robert "Bob" McLaws who recognized her from being from his hometown. They were married on March 17, 1961, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Her family was the most important thing to her, and everyone was always welcome in her home. Judith was also the world's most extraordinary, loving and caring mother of six who spent her entire life caring for and in the service of others unselfishly and without complaint, including caring for her ailing husband and mother-in-law for years. She made sure that she taught her children all the tools they would ever need to be successful in this life and beyond. She was an accomplished and very talented pianist. She loved to play as well as teach the piano and to read music. Judy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, her favorite being in the primary. She loved a competitive game of cards and picking up her friends for their weekly game of bingo.
Judy is survived by her daughters Joni (Buck Rogers) McLaws, Diane Taylor, Camille McLaws (Melanie); sons, Scott (Maren) McLaws, Marc McLaws (Melissa); son-in-law, Vaughn (Holly) Royle; sisters Patricia Warburton & Deborah Gregrich, sister-in-law Mickey Hansen, brother-in-law Tim Curwen, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob McLaws, daughter Michelle Royle, son-in-law Russell Taylor and granddaughter Sammie Jo McLaws.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lizi Black, Jade Landis, the staff of Diamond Jane's Assisted Living and the various hospice companies for taking such great care of her.
A viewing will be held at the Tooele 7th Ward Chapel, 1025 W. Utah Ave, Tooele, Utah, on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral services to follow at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Tooele City Cemetery.
