Taunya Stevens

Taunya Gay Stevens, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Tooele, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.

Taunya was born in Provo, Utah. After traveling and living in many places around the world, she eventually settled in Tooele, Utah, where she built a life centered around family, compassion, and quiet strength.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Bert Wagstaff, and her brother, Todd Wagstaff. We find comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with those loved ones who went before her.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Stevens; her siblings Stephanie, Heidi, and Troy; her children Todd, Sundi, Trent, and Hillary; and her many cherished grandchildren, who brought immeasurable light into her life.

Taunya was a thoughtful mother and grandmother and the steady heart of her family. As a homemaker, she was the one who held everyone together - the comfort in hard times, the voice of reassurance, and the quiet strength behind so many cherished memories. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved everyone and truly was a friend to anyone she met. Spending time with her instantly brought joy through her warm energy, sweet spirit, and love of laughter.

She found happiness in life's simple and beautiful moments - decorating fairy gardens, scrapbooking precious memories, hosting family dinners, and sitting peacefully on her porch swing during a rainstorm. She adored birds and always kept her yard filled with bird feeders.

Taunya lived a life of tenderness and resilience. Though she faced challenges, she continued to love deeply and give selflessly. Her legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.

A visitation will be held from 9:30–10:45 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on March 4, 2026, at the LDS Church, 332 E 1000 N, Tooele, Utah.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered prayers, support, and comfort during this time. Your kindness and love mean more than words can express.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing she is resting and free from pain. Her love will remain with us always.
