Judith Murray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home - Wichita Falls on Dec. 13, 2025.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Judith Ann (Rutter) Murray , 85, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Wichita Falls on Thursday morning, December 11, 2025.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16th at Lunn's. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17th, at Lunn's Chapel. A family burial will be held before the memorial service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Judy had a sweet and fun spirit and loved her family and friends. Many times she expressed gratitude for her long life full of travel and fun experiences, her family, good friends, and in her last months wonderful care from compassionate caregivers she considered friends. She was a Christian who expressed her love for Jesus until the end.

Judy, an only child, was born December 28, 1939, to Harry H. Rutter and Inez Holland Rutter. She grew up with cousins who were like siblings: Barbara Sue Matthews, Steve Holland, Jimmy Holland, Toni Holland, Jackie Holland, and Larry Holland, and she always had the best stories to tell of their times together. She was proud to be a 1958 graduate of Wichita Falls High School. During her life she worked at various places, but most loved her years working at Presbyterian Manor. She knew many residents and staff members and was proud to call them her friends.

Judy has two children, Patrick Murray of Wichita Falls, and Kelly Schroeder (Jeff), of Peoria, Arizona. She has four grandchildren, Taylor Riley (Jessica), Ashley Schroeder (Rae), Brooke Schroeder and Ryan Murray (Kiley). She has two great grandchildren due in 2026.

Judy enjoyed numerous trips with her friends and always returned from them full of stories to tell. She loved seeing new places and learning about them. Judy enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She will truly be missed!

The family extends their deepest appreciation to Pam McWhorter Eaton and Laurie Endsley, and the wonderful care team at Hospice of Wichita Falls. They can never fully express the extent of their gratitude to these extraordinary people.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls or Grace Church.
