Judith (Judy) A. Pashak, 83, of Noblesville, formerly of Logansport, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Harbour Manor in Noblesville. Judy was born February 4th, 1941, in Takoma Park, Maryland, to the late Keith and Nannabelle (Howell) Obenchain. Judy was proud to be the first grandchild on both of her parents' sides, qualifying her as the oldest cousin on both sides.
Judy lived most of her life in Logansport. She was a proud 1959 graduate of Logansport High School. She then went on to nursing school to become an RN at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. While she was at nursing school, her best friend and her best friend's boyfriend introduced her to John Pashak, who was in the Army at the time. She knew that the first day that she met him that she was going to marry him. On September 15th, 1962, she was married to John. They were married for 56 years until his death on June 23, 2019.
Judy knew from the time that she was 4 years old that she wanted to be a nurse. She enjoyed being a nurse and practiced nursing until she had a stroke in 1998. She worked as a nurse at many places around Logansport including Logansport Memorial Hospital, Howard Clinic, Chase Center, Camelot Care Center and the Logansport State Hospital. Her favorite, by far, was Camelot Care Center, as she fell in love with the children she worked with.
Judy also owned and ran the Taco Stand at Indiana Beach with her family for many years. Because she was a nurse, she was also known to help with injuries that the ski show team incurred during practices or ski shows.
Judy attended Shiloh Christian Church and River of Life Church in Logansport. She would occasionally attend The Mill Church in Noblesville. She enjoyed listening to Christian music being played at the facility where she lived. She loved listening to the old-time hymns.
While living at Harbour Manor, Judy enjoyed doing many of the activities offered there. She enjoyed arts, crafts, playing cards and especially Bingo. She would earn bingo bucks and then get to spend them on different things at the facility which made her happy because she loved to shop.
Judy is survived by her son Jeff (Kelli) Pashak of Tallahassee, Florida, her daughters, Deb (Paul) Widner of Nappanee, and Nan (John) Biehle of Noblesville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Chris Widner of South Bend, Michelle (Alex) Reynolds of Tipton, Brendan Widner of Indio, California, and Annamarie Biehle of Noblesville. She is also survived by one great-grandson, Gunnar Lee Reynolds of Tipton. She is also survived by a brother Tom (Sue) Obenchain of Leesburg and sister, Kathy Obenchain of Whitestown. She is survived by an uncle and 2 aunts, and many cousins.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, David John, infant granddaughter, Lindsay Michelle Widner, and many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 31 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service celebrating Judy's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 1 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Daris Reynolds, Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the patient activity account at Camelot Care Center.
