Judith Ann Patt, of Hingham has gone to her heavenly home, after 85 years of love and learning on this earth. Judith joyfully returns to the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as to her parents, Donald Gardner Patt and Mary (Perry) Patt, and her brother, Neil Gardner Patt. Among those who cherish her memory are her sister Christine Harrison of Social Circle, Georgia; brother Leonard Patt of Seattle, Washington and ten nieces and nephews, several grand-nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Education, traveling and ministry were some of the most meaningful parts of her life. With degrees from Weymouth High School, Quincy College, Boston College and Simmons Graduate School of Library Science, Judith spent most of her life in the library. Working up from high school book-shelver to Director of Weymouth Public Libraries, Judith retired in 2000. Following retirement, Judith traveled and camped for many years with her dear friend Mary Pottle. In 2008, Judith graduated from Andover Newton Theological Seminary and pursued God’s calling into the ministry. Judith was a pastor and worship leader at Promise Church in Weymouth, serving in various roles from 2005 through 2020.
Judith lived fully, always with a grateful heart. She enjoyed so many things: exploring different cultures, making new friends, swimming, baking and playing cards. She had a true servant’s heart and worked with many charitable organizations, helping those in her community and around the world. To keep her legacy alive in your hearts, she would like you to do the same: Live every moment with wonder, gratitude, service and love.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service for Judith at the Community Room at Linden Ponds in Hingham at 300 Linden Ponds Way, on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 am.
