Judith Remenchus Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center - Kimball Township on Jul. 31, 2025.
Judith Ann Remenchus, affectionately known as Judy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 24, 1941, to the late Joseph and Antonina Russo, Judy's life was one marked by joy and the love she shared with those around her.
Judy grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, where she graduated from South Lake High School. Her career began with her uncle at Swedish Crucible Steel and later as a dedicated secretary at Selfridge ANGB. She married the love of her life, Kenneth J. Remenchus on May 26, 1967 and they enjoyed over 47 years together until his passing in 2015.
Along with her husband, Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antonina Russo and her son, Kenneth S. Remenchus. Judy is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Renush and Kimberly (Stephen) Leyva. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Katerina Renusch as well as Krystina, Ashliegh, Vicente, and Antonio. Judy also leaves behind her brother, Anthony (Cindy) Russo, and sister, Patrina (Andy) Panayiotou, along with several nieces, nephews, great-niece, and great-nephews, all of whom she adored.
Beyond her family and work, Judy's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She was the life of the party, always ready for girl time with her daughter Jennifer and granddaughter Katerina, sipping her favorite key lime martinis and savoring a delicious cannoli or relaxing at wineries together. Judy enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and watching and cheering on the Detroit Tigers. Her adventurous spirit also led her to travel, sightsee, and visit casinos. St. Patrick's Day was a never-missed special occasion for Judy, as she celebrated it with enthusiasm, joy, and a green beer.
Judy's journey through life was marked by her unwavering positivity, sense of humor, and her ability to find happiness in every moment. When asked if she was alright, her response was always the same, "No, I'm half left," a line that never failed to make everyone laugh. Similarly, when asked how she was feeling, her reply, "With my hands," was another classic example of her quick wit. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her remarkable spirit.
A gathering and viewing will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball, MI 48074.
