Judith Louise "Judy" Root

On August 31, 2022, Judith Louis Root (Hooker) loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 78 at Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids, MI.
Judy was born January 25th, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI to Louis and June (Hunt) Hooker. On February 15th, 1962, she married Gerry Dean Root in Standale, MI. They raised a son, Gerry D. Root Jr., and three daughters Toni, Sherry, and Patricia.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, her chihuahuas, fishing, gardening, crafts, horses, traveling and the mountains.
Judy was proceeded in death by her father, Louis and her mother, June; sister, Patricia Parm; brothers, Richard, David, Johnny, and Paul Hooker.
Judy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerry Dean Root; and her children, Toni Root, Sherry (Mike Towers), Patricia (Rodney Rives) and Gerry D. Root Jr.; grandchildren, Tina Hansen, Michelle Roy, Kent Towers, Tracie DeWitt, Travis DeWitt, Task DeWitt, Kayla Rives; eleven great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Jacqueline Snyder, Joanne King, Barbara Vertz.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Langston Bible Church, 1202 W. Church St. NW, Stanton, MI. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service also at the church.
