Judith Ann Sahms, 86, of Greenville, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born on December 7, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI, Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years and love of her life, Ronald Herbert Sahms, her father, John Ward Starr and her mother, Ethel (Binns) Starr. Judy is survived by her three sons, Craig (Mary Ann), Fred (Kimberly) and Mark (Toni) Sahms, seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Judy was a proud graduate of Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport (St. Petersburg), Florida, class of 1956. She was first and foremost a mom to her three boys, but also a talented watercolor artist. Judy taught painting at Greenville Art Museum and traveled to Provence, France to learn and paint. Her paintings adorn homes across the United States.

After losing her husband, Judy moved to the East Park historic neighborhood in Greenville, built a house and worked diligently to help get the neighborhood recognized on the National Historic Register. She dearly loved her neighbors and her Labradors.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of Judy's caregivers and especially the staff at NHC in Greer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Greenville Animal Care and Magnolia Fawn Rescue

A visitation for Judy will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes Downtown, 639 North Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
