Judith Carpenter Shiffer, 80, born October 19, 1944, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her home in New Ipswich, NH.
Born in Millersburg, OH, Judith was the daughter of the late Louis Carpenter and Doris Carpenter (Bush). She moved to West Pittston, PA in 1948 and was a graduate of West Pittston High School, Class of 1962.
Surviving Judith is her husband, Bert B. Shiffer. For more than 62 years, she shared an inseparable bond with her beloved husband. Theirs was a love story of rare depth and devotion, the kind that inspires.
Judith was a loving mother to her children and cherished grandchildren; her son and grandson, Bryan Shiffer and Brett Shiffer; her daughter and son-in-law, Kristina Jacques and Jason Jacques, and granddaughter, Kayson Jacques.
Judith had a diverse career path that ranged from Nursing, Cosmetology, running the office of a medical practice, owning her own horse tack store, to her final endeavor as an assistant with a financial insurance company. She raised, bred, and showed German Shorthaired Pointers and had a passion for music; she played the clarinet, the piano, and loved to sing. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling to Hilton Head, SC, and spending time with friends. Her hobbies also included decorating her home, crafting, and baking. Judith will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her kindness, strength, and the beautiful love she shared with Bert. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
Relatives and friends will gather in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Thursday, July 10th from 4 – 5 pm, followed by her memorial service at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to Home Healthcare Hospice & Community Services, Hospice Division, for their care and support in the final months of Judith’s illness.
