Judith Suder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis & Powell Funeral Home, LLC on Jan. 16, 2026.
Judith (Judy) Ann (Meyers) Suder, 82, of Berea, Kentucky, passed away on January 14, 2026. She was born on July 17, 1943, to David and Sara Meyers in Berlin, Pennsylvania.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, aunt, and friend. Shy of the camera, the best photos could be captured when she was interacting with her grandkids. Judy trained and worked as a registered nurse, then raised her four children, along with babysitting others. She served in many ways as a volunteer for the Port Royal and St. Paul Lutheran parish in Pennsylvania. In Berea, she served as an aide for individual students with disabilities and also worked in kindergarten classrooms. She absolutely adored children.

Judy and her husband Robert (Bob) of nearly 62 years devoted many summers to travel, often to Wyoming, where they would camp, hike, drive, and enjoy adventures together. Friends and family would visit them at the Pelton Creek campground they maintained, and many fond memories were made "out West."

In addition to spending time with family and traveling, Judy loved to sing in the church choir and listen to liturgical music. She made it a priority to care for those who were sick, and to always be there for the birth of all eight grandchildren. Judy enjoyed puzzles, books, cooking, sewing, giraffes, snowmen, and hummingbirds. She always loved to shop for a child who needed Christmas presents through the Angel program at Berea Community School.

Judy is survived by her husband Bob, of Berea, Kentucky; her children Mark Suder (Margie), Missy Arp (John), Jessica Suder (Nick Fil), and Danielle Ripperton (Ryan); her grandchildren Tim, Ben, Bryce, Matthew, Ella, Naomi, Alex, and Mikayla; and her siblings Jack Meyers (Joyce), James Meyers (Kay), and Jan Bardenhagen (Jim). She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Sara Meyers, and her stepmother Lucy Meyers.

A funeral service will be held on January 31, 2026 10:00AM at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Lexington, Kentucky. A private burial service will be held in Berlin, Pennsylvania, later this year.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Judy's memory to the "Frisk Latchkey Fund" with a note designating Christmas Angel Program mailed to Berea Community School's Berea Resource Center, or to the charity of your choice.
