Judith Techam Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNearney - Schmidt Funeral and Cremation on Feb. 2, 2025.
Judith A. "Judy" Techam, age 81, of Shakopee, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 4-7 PM at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220 3rd Ave. East, Shakopee, also 1 hour before the service. A Celebration of Judy's Life will be held Thursday, February 6, beginning at 11 AM, also hosted at McNearney-Schmidt. The service will be followed by a reception. Private burial will follow at Valley Cemetery, Shakopee.
Judy was born in Spring Valley, Minnesota on March 31, 1943, the daughter of Elik "Martin" and Mildred (Lenz) Grummons.
After high school graduation, Judy went to beauty school, and then was a teaching assistant. But she mostly worked as a scheduler for the Shakopee Park and Recreation Department.
She would meet the love of her life on a blind date and on June 22, 1963, she was united in marriage to Bob Techam. They would go on to share 61 years of wedded bliss.
Judy, along with Bob, were best known for their instrumental role in founding the Shakopee Basketball Association. Together they served as dedicated servants for 40-plus years. She not only loved basketball, but all sports activities. Judy also enjoyed nickel Keno at the casino, playing cards and watching game shows, and you could always see her getting books to read at the Shakopee Library.
Judy absolutely loved being around all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Bisek-Techam; son, Terry Techam, and his wife, Marie; grandchildren, Matt (Michelle) Bisek, Jacob (Katie) Bisek and Cody Bisek, Derek (McKenzie) Techam, Trent Techam, Grace Techam; great-grandchildren, Evie, Frankie, Norah, Max, Theo, Griffin, and Kendall; sister-in-law, Nancy Techam.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and parents, Martin and Mildred Grummons; sister, Sheri Crews.
