Judith A. Tonsfeldt, 86, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa.

Judy’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no services. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements.

Judith Ann Phipps, daughter of Russell and Jeanne (Lepley) Phipps was born on August 5, 1939, in Boone, Iowa. She received her education in Ogden where she graduated from Ogden High School with the class of 1957.

On October 19, 1959, Judy was united in marriage to Roger Tonsfeldt in Ogden, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Steve and Lesli. The couple later divorced.

Judy was employed with the Ogden Community Schools where she was a secretary at Ogden High School and Howe Elementary. She also worked at the Boone County Hospital where she was an assistant to the Physical Therapy Department.

Judy cherished her family and friends and had a lifelong love of horses.

In addition to her parents, Judy was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Phipps.

Survivors include her son, Steve (Christie) Tonsfeldt of Atherton, CA; her daughter, Lesli (Brett) Hayes of Ogden, IA; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaitlyn, and Jake Tonsfeldt and Carson Hayes.

Memorials may be given in memory of Judy to the Ogden Community Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 441, Ogden, Iowa 50212 or the Leonard A. Good Community Library, Ogden, Iowa.
