Judith M. Warszalek (née Nowak), age 85, of Calumet Park, passed from this life on Friday, October 17, 2025.
Born on January 2, 1940, in Blue Island, Illinois, Judith was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and the late Frances Nowak. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Frank Warszalek, with whom she shared a life of love, family, and faith.
Judith is the loving mother of Jerome (Marie), the late Marylynn (Sefwan) Badr, and the late Thomas (Susan). She is the cherished grandmother of Thomas, Anisa, Amira, Frances, and Jack, and the proud great-grandmother of Molly, Frankie, Tommy, Rami, and Sami. She was also preceded in death by her dear sister Marian. Judith is a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews and a beloved cousin to many more. Her family always appreciated her warmth, generosity, and unwavering support.
Judith was a deeply valued part of her family and community. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her willingness to lend a hand to those around her, and her ability to make others feel loved and cared for. She was a former active member of the St. Isidore Women's Club and, more recently, a devoted part of the St. Benedict Church / St. Mary Magdalene Parish. She contributed her time and talents by baking pies for the Women's Club bake sales and volunteering at the parish's Lenten Fish Fries-always ready to help, serve, and support her church family in any way she could.
Judith was known for building close, lasting relationships with her girlfriends and cherished spending quality time with them. She was an avid sports fan, always cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their games and events. A lover of travel, Judith found joy visiting family in Oregon, especially taking in the peaceful sounds of the ocean. She also enjoyed trips to Michigan, treasuring time spent with loved ones.
Proud of her Polish heritage, Judith loved to cook and was known for creating delicious homemade meals from scratch. Among her specialties were her famous Polish sausage, pierogis, and pizzas, all made with love and shared generously.
Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but they take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones.
Visitation for Judith will be held on Friday, October 24th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Avenue, Blue Island. Chapel prayers will begin at 9:15 AM on Saturday, October 25th, at the Krueger Funeral Home, followed by Holy Mass at St. Walter Church/St. Mary Magdalene Parish, 118th & Western Ave., Chicago. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City.
