Judy I. Hoffmire, 79, of Brownstown, died peacefully at 4:10 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown with Pastor Wes Hoffmire and Dave Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at South Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be for one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, Vandalia Camp, P.O. Box #254, Brownstown, IL 62418.
Judy was born on Tuesday, October 3, 1944 in rural Vandalia to Ralph and Gladys (Cearlock) Ledbetter. She married Maurice E. Hoffmire on September 30, 1967. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church and was a member of Gideons International Auxilliary.
She is survived by: her husband with whom she celebrated over 56 years of marriage, Maurice of Brownstown; daughters, Wilma Abendroth and her husband, Michael of St. Louis, MO and Michelle Hoffmire of Brownstown; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Abendroth and his wife Colleen of St. Louis, MO and Sarah Abendroth of Creve Couer, MO; great-granddaughters, Gwen and Eva Abendroth of St. Louis, MO; sister, Patty Ellsworth and her husband Leroy of Vandalia; brothers, Boyd Ledbetter and his wife Norma of Vandalia and Larry Ledbetter and his wife Thais of Vandalia.
Judy was preceded in death by: her sisters, Gloria Jean Ledbetter and Barbara Ledbetter; and a brother, Roger Ledbetter
