Judy K. Ward, 82, of Rushville, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 30, 1943, in Macomb, the daughter of the late Leonard Lee Lanham and Virginia Irene Armstrong Lanham Jones. She attended Rushville schools with the class of 1961. She married David C. Ward on January 17, 1960, in Rushville, IL. He survives along with their children Dwayne (Dirk Yuill) Ward, Lynn Mourning, Danny (Shelly) Ward, and Donnie Ward. Her grandchildren in clude Shane (Heather) Ward, Ryan (Erica) Ward, Melissa Mourning, Ashlee Mourning, James Mourning, Cassie Ward, Candice O'Meara, Brenden Ankrom, step grandchildren Carissa (Zac) O'Donoghue, Breanna (Kooten) Johnson, Riley (Nic) Cox, and 14 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Her sister Connie (Dick) Miller of Rushville, half-brother Lee Lanham, half-sister, Cheryl Sutton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Peggy Mikesell, half-brother Timothy Lanham, and a grandson, Dustin Carl Ward. Judy first helped run David C. Ward Trucking. She also worked at Kozy Family Restaurant in the mid 1980's and in 1990 started working for the Schuyler County Clerk's office full time for 15 yrs and part-time for 19 years retiring in 2024. She was a member of the Mayflower Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, War of 1812 Society and the Schuyler Jail Museum. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday October 6, 2025, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Rose Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and McDonough District Hospital Hospice.
