Mrs. Judy Lynn Williamson, 66, of Gray, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 10, 2024 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Martha Gregory Swafford born September 3, 1957 in Knox County.
Judy was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist church and a registered nurse, graduating from Eastern Kentucky University. Throughout her nursing career, she served at several area hospitals including the old Knox County Hospital, Barbourville ARH Hospital and Saint Joseph London Hospital. She had also worked for the Corbin Independent School System as a school nurse. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening and bee keeping. Most of all, she enjoyed time with her family.
On August 19, 1982, she united in marriage with Randle Williamson at the home of Rev. Alvin Dunn and to this union two sons were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Swafford.
Survivors include her loving husband of almost 42 years, Randle Williamson of Gray; sons, Josh Williamson and fiancé, Brittany Smith, of Laurel County and Jake Williamson of Louisville; sisters, Melody Swafford of Gray, Marlene Jenkins of Missouri and Janet Chavez and husband, Carlos, of Florida; cherished grandson, Noah Williamson; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, July 15 at 12 Noon with Rev. Jim Bargo officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Williamson Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be her family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday from 6 until 8 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Barbourville ARH Hospital for the excellent care they provided Judy.
