Jack Withrow, age 90, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Friday, October 3, 2025, at his home. Born Saturday, December 22, 1934, in Ashland, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Creed & Sally (Fleming) Withrow. Jack was the widower of the late Wanda Rae (Collier) Withrow, who preceded him in death Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

Jack was raised in Ashland and moved to Stanford in 1954, when he married his wife, Wanda Rae Collier Withrow on Friday, September 3, 1954. Jack met Wanda at Eastern Kentucky University, where he played baseball his freshman year. Jack worked at IBM for 33 years, before retiring in 1989. After retirement, Jack worked and managed Dix River Country Club Golf Course Pro Shop for 29 years. Jack enjoyed this job immensely, due to his deep passion for the game of golf.

Jack was very community minded and faithfully served in various ways. Jack served on the Stanford City Council for 23 years, was the Mayor of Stanford for 7 ½ years, served on the City of Stanford Water Commission for 20 years and was previously Chairman, and was the past Treasurer of the Buffalo Springs Cemetery Board for 31 years.

Jack and Wanda previously served as youth group leaders at Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. Jack was a faithful member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church. Previously, he served on the church lead team/church board for 10 years.

Jack also previously served as a Little League Baseball Coach for the Stanford Little League Program. He organized and coached Little League Football and assisted with the Youth Basketball Program in Stanford. Jack umpired high school girls' softball. He also served as the Past President for Lincoln County High School Boys Basketball Booster Club. In recognition to his community service, Jack was awarded the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2017.

Most of all, Jack enjoyed spending time with family. You would often see him supporting his children and grandchildren at various sporting events throughout the years. Jack will be remembered for his love of God, family, and community. He was a true servant leader.

Jack leaves behind two sons, Jack Andrew Withrow (Carol) and Daniel Ray Withrow (Margie) both of Stanford; five grandchildren, Bridgette Lynn (Danny), Tyson Withrow (Lauren), Chad Withrow (Amy), Keith Withrow (Jessica), and Jordan Withrow (Rebecca Jeffries); ten great-grandchildren, Ally Lynn (Kalvin Ryan), Tinley Lynn, Jackson Withrow, Kainen Withrow, Elin Withrow, Emery Bertram, Hunter Withrow, Austin Wilkinson, and Ally Wilkinson and Addy Wilkinson; and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jack was preceded in death by one brother, David Withrow; and one sister, Peggy Elkins.

A Public Visitation will be held 5-8PM Sunday, October 5, 2025, at New Beginnings United Methodist Church.

A Public Funeral Service will be held 11AM Monday, October 6, 2025, at the church. Bro. Vola Brown & Bro. Danny Bertram will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Jack's memorial page of the funeral home's website.

Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Jack's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and Kalvin Ryan will serve as Active Pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jack's grandchildren, Kathy Rayborn, Joyce Cooper, and Jan Burton for taking such excellent care of Jack over the past few years.
