Wilma Dean Campbell

Wilma Dean Campbell, age 71, of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

She leaves behind her nephew, Darrell W. Peters of London, KY, and niece, Rhonda Vacco & husband Bert of Houston, TX; her great niece, Shirin Omidvar & husband Omid Omidvar of Dallas, TX; her great, great nephews, Armin Omidvar, Afshin Omidvar, both of Dallas, TX; her great nephew, Reza Dastmalchain & wife Lauren Dastmalchain of Allen, TX; her great, great niece Aria and great, great nephew Shawn, both of Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; first cousins, Nina Jo Bratch & Janice Gaines; along with other family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Campbell & Mornan Marie Woods Campbell; two sisters, Bonnie Jean Peters, Anna C. Patton.

Wilma D. Campbell, a devoted educator and cherished member of her community, passed away leaving behind a legacy of service, kindness, and dedication to the lives of young people.

Wilma served as a school teacher in the Laurel County School System for over 20 years, where she taught history and inspired countless students with her passion for learning. She also spent time as a middle school cheer coach, encouraging teamwork, school spirit, and confidence in the students she mentored.

A proud member of the Class of 1974 at Sue Bennett College, Wilma went on to further her education at Union College and Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned advanced degrees, including her Rank I certification.

Her love for education extended beyond the classroom, as she remained very active in school activities even before completing her degrees.

Wilma had a special place in her heart for the 4-H Club, where she dedicated her time and energy, even serving as a camp manager for several summers. She truly loved children and poured herself into the lives of her students, always striving to make a difference not only in their education, but in their personal growth as well.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, her commitment to her community, and the lasting impact she made on generations of students.

A funeral service honoring Wilma Dean Campbell will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Brent Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery in London, KY. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 3, 2026 beginning at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
