Judy Rider Zdansky, age 80, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1944, in Wheeler, Texas, to E.L. and Aline Rider.
Judy was raised and spent most of her childhood in Beeville, Texas, a place that always held a special place in her heart. It was there that she met the love of her life, Harry Joe Zdansky. They were married on February 18, 1963, and were happily married for 53 years.
She spent her life being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was caring for and supporting her family, and she poured her heart into creating a loving and faith-filled home.
In the earlier years, before her children started school, Judy ironed and sewed for others to help make extra money for the family. Her sewing work included making drill team outfits, cheerleading uniforms, and, alongside her dear friend of many years, Betty, creating costumes for a local store. She was also known for her talents in the kitchen. For many years, Judy baked and sold cakes for all occasions ~ from birthdays to weddings, leaving sweet memories and full hearts wherever her creations were shared.
Later in life, she found joy and friendship working at Meadowbrook Elementary, where she served in the school cafeteria alongside her best friends, Nancy and Barbara, for over 15 years. Her kindness and warm smile made her a favorite among students and staff alike.
Judy's hobbies reflected her creative soul. She loved sewing, crafting, going to garage sales, and piddling in her flower beds. Her flower beds were a work of art, filled not only with beautiful plants but also with her many garage sale treasures, lovingly arranged as unique garden décor. She also loved playing Bunco with her friends ~ something she enjoyed monthly in several groups for over 40 years, always looking forward to the laughter, fun, and friendships it brought.
Her home served many purposes over the years, a hub of love, laughter, and warmth. Whether family or friend, many happy people passed through her door and were made to feel welcome and cherished. She shared many things with her children and grandchildren, but one of the most treasured was her competitive spirit when it came to playing cards, dominoes, and marbles. Hours upon hours were spent around the kitchen table, where the laughter was loud, the stakes were high, and the memories were priceless. It quickly became the highlight of every family gathering and everyone had to learn how to play.
Judy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harry Joe Zdansky, Sr.; her father, E.L. Rider; her mother, Aline Bisiules; and her brother, E.C. Rider.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lynnae Zdansky, Harry Joe (Michelle) Zdansky, Jr., and Michelle (Randy) Williams. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Brooke (David) Hensel, Randall Williams, Brady (Megan) Tumlinson, Zachary (Shelby) Williams, Madysen Zdansky, and Halle Zdansky. Her legacy continues in her precious great-grandchildren: Parker Hensel, Layne Tumlinson, and Harper Tumlinson.
Judy lived a life marked by love, faith, and family. Her warm heart, unwavering spirit, and deep devotion to those she cared for will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
